Kitsap County is home to the following nine Libraries: Bainbridge Island Public Library, Bremerton Public Library, Kingston Public Library, Kitsap Regional Library, Little Boston Public Library, Manchester Public Library, Port Orchard Public Library, Poulsbo Public Library, and Silverdale Public Library.
Kitsap Regional Library is composed of community library locations and is a mid-size rural library district serving Kitsap County 's population of 265,000. This community library has over half a million items in the library's collection, library materials circulation continues to increase by 7% annually. Five-member Board of Trustees govern the Kitsap Regional Library System. In addition, the library provides free access to dozens of subscription-based databases and other professional reference assistance. The homebound and youth have access to library materials and services, a traveling bookmobile. Outreach services are provided as well.
Special events and learning programs are available at the library. Programs include Weekly children's activities and Special teen programs. Special teen programs focus on participation and learning activities. Lecture series, author visits and numerous community events draw varied crowds to explore, share and learn together. Members that acquire a library card have access the Internet up to 60 minutes each day on library computers and have access to the valuable new "cardholder only" databases online. Members may also reserve and renew library materials online.
